First check to see if any users are on the Access Point.

WAP#show dot11 association

Next check the current version of firmware

WAP#show version
WAP#dir flash:
WAP#dir flash:c1130-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JA

Backup up the current version of IOS currently on the access point just in case.

WAP#copy flash:c1130-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JA\c1130-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JA tftp

Upgrade to the latest release of firmware

WAP#archive download-sw /overwrite /reload tftp://location/image-name

The access point will extract the image, update the firmware and reboot the Access Point. Give it about 10 min or so before the firmware and Wireless Radio's are completely up to date.

Verify that the firmware has been updated

WAP#show version
WAP#dir flash:
WAP#dir flash:c1130-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JA

Finished!
